Volunteers learn about hate and mate crime

Yesterday, 20th August 2015, a group of our volunteers went to visit the impressive new police station at Elland Road. We  had a tour of the buildings and vans; very exciting.

We all so learnt about hate and mate crime. If you’ve never heard of mate crime, this is when a vulnerable person is manipulated  by someone they thought were their friend. It is often in the form of someone abusing the generous, trusting nature of the victim. For more information see the links posted below but in the meantime this is a lovely picture of our volunteers exploring the police vans.
