Last week saw us celebrating the achievements of our Patron, Frances Jones.

A group of SLATE staff and volunteers gathered at our cafe to honour Frances and to celebrate her Lifetime Achievement award from Tenfold.

Frances Woolaston, one of our Trustees, led the presentation discussing the enormity of Frances’s contribution to the wider lives of people with learning disabilities but also the individuals she has advocated on behalf of and befriended. In addition to the Tenfold award, Frances was also presented with two planters filled with French lavender and some bulbs for her beautiful garden.

All that were present enjoyed a beautiful tea party catered by the team at SLATE Cafe at Hillside, Beeston. The lemon cake deserves a particular mention!

Frances is now busy working as SLATE’s Patron and planning our 10 year anniversary celebrations.
